Dubai Police has launched its anti-begging campaign, 'Begging Is A Wrong Concept Of Compassion'.
The annual initiative aims to raise awareness of the risk of begging as well as individuals are aware to make donations through reliable sources.
During the Holy Month of Ramadan, an increase in begging is noticed, and individuals are reminded not to give money in these cases, as in such situations, children, the elderly and people of determination are used to exploit people.
With the awareness campaign, in 2022, 604 beggars were arrested during Ramadan, with over 2,235 reports made by residents and citizens.
