Queen Elizabeth Passes Away

Britain's Queen Elizabeth has passed away at the age of 96.

An announcement made by Buckingham Palace said "The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral this afternoon. The King and The Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and will return to London tomorrow.”

Immediately upon he death her eldest son Charles succeeded her to the throne and is now King Charles III. 

The late Queen Elizabeth came to the throne at the age of 25 on 6th February 1952 on the death of her father King George VI, and reigned for 70 years, making her the longest serving British monarch 

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minster of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai paid tribute to Queen Elizabeth sharing a message on Twitter that read "We join the world in mourning the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, a global icon who represented the finest qualities of her nation and people. Her incredible lifetime of service and duty to the United Kingdom is unparalleled in our modern world."
