National Archives Challenge For The Visually Impaired

WAM

The National Archives have launched a new device that will help people with visual impairments to read pages from the National Archives in Braille.

The device will enable people to read and access publications that have been uploaded on the National Archives website.

The publications are about the history of the UAE as well as its cultural heritage.

Although some publications have been translated into Braille, the new device converts texts in a specific format into embossed Braille.

The National Archives also provides a place at the headquarters in the Customer Happiness Hall, for users to read uploaded content in Braille format.
