The UAE has temporarily suspended the issuance of all entry visas starting Tuesday 17 March. There is an exception for those with diplomatic passports.

The decision does not apply to anyone who has applied and receives their visa before 17 March, and they can enter the country with their valid visas.

The statement issued by the Federal Authority For Identity and Citizenship read, "The move was taken as a precautionary measure being initiated by the country to contain the spread of coronavirus and is in response to the World Health Organisation declaring the novel coronavirus outbreak as a pandemic - which makes travel at this point dangerous."
