Dubai Municipality has stationed around 140 people as part of the rescue team, to increase safety measures at beaches in Dubai.

The team consists of 124 qualified lifeguards, 12 supervisors, and two assistant managers who will be managed by one operations manager.

Equipped with all-terrain beach vehicles, safety devices and equipment, the team will manage beaches at Jumeirah 1, 2 and 3, Umm Suqeim 1 and 2, Sunrise Beach, Al Sufouh, Jebel Ali, Al Mamzar Beach, and Al Mamzar Corniche.

The rescue team will work from sunrise to sunset at day beaches, and round the clock at night swimming beaches, by monitoring the activities of beachgoers and ensuring their safety at all times.

Dubai Municipality has also placed signboards with safety protocols, along with warning flags at beaches. There are three warning flags where the red flag indicates that swimming in a specific area is prohibited, the yellow flag warns people to swim with caution, and the purple flag indicates that swimming is permitted, however, marine species are present in those areas.

Engineer Ibrahim Mohammad Juma, Director of Public Beaches and Waterways Management Department at Dubai Municipality said, "All rescue teams at Dubai beaches are highly qualified and regularly trained to the highest levels in intensive rescue operations. They are equipped with the latest and innovative equipment and technologies, which ensure the safety and security of visitors, including first aid equipment, all-terrain beach vehicles, and wireless communication devices for a swift response to emergencies. This equipment allows them to perform their work efficiently, saving lives and preventing drowning and injuries on the beaches."
