2 cups of cream (heavy or light, or half and half)

1 vanilla bean, split lengthwise, or 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

? teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon butter

6 brioche slices

Method:

  1. Whip the cream and then gently mix in salt, vanilla and sugar into one bowl, saving some of the sugar for the end.
  2. Soak the brioche slices in the mix for 30 minutes.
  3. Melt butter in a pan and add the soaked brioche slices until both sides turn golden and caramelise.
  4. Place on a serving dish and sprinkle a thin layer of the remaining sugar over the surface of the caramelised brioche slices and enjoy.
