Dubai is not short of restaurants with amazing views, whether they are of the sea from all the different places that run along the Dubai coastline, views of the different skylines in the Marina, Palm Jumeirah or the alternate sides of the Creek, or of the iconic landmarks of Burj Al Arab, Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Frame, we are spoilt for choice when it comes to dining in front of a great backdrop.
Fire Lake Grill House at the Radisson Blu Hotel, on Dubai Waterfront in Business Bay boasts a huge terrace area that can seat up to 400 people with views overlooking the Dubai Canal and the Burj Khalifa. The setting alone is enough to make you go and spend as long as possible, relaxing and soaking up the panoramic views.
The menu offers a range of North American inspired dishes, from seafood and a selection of different cuts of meats.
Our starter of tuna ceviche was very refreshing with a great citrusy flavour and a gentle kick from the chili oil added to the dressing, but not too much to overpower the taste of the hearty and plentiful chunks of tuna. Alongside that, we had the sticky lamb ribs, coated with a smokey chilli glaze, where the meat fell perfectly off the bone.
For mains we opted for a seafood dish and meat dish from the Butcher’s Block, which includes 28 day aged old beef sourced from Omaha, Nebraska. The flame grilled jumbo prawns were meaty and chunky and came with some tasty charred scallions. However for hungry meat lovers out there, you could not choose better than the rib eye. Charred and seared on the outside to keep all the flavour inside, and was still one of the most succulent pieces of meat we have tried.
If you have room for dessert, the menu features a good variety of seven to try, and in a restaurant inspired by food from the other side of the Atlantic, we just had to go for the churros and berry ripple cheesecake, both of which finished of the meal perfectly.
Fire Lake Grill is a must visit for good hearty food, with amazing views. Expect to pay around Dhs 330 per person not including drinks for a 3-course meal.
