Emirati Astronaut To Make The First Arab Spacewalk

Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi will make the first Arab spacewalk on 28 April.

The milestone will take place outside the International Space Station (ISS) and is expected to last for 6.5 hours.

While on the spacewalk, Sultan will complete a mission to replace the Radio Frequency Unit (RFU), which is used by astronauts to communicate, as well as prep the solar array installations, which helps in generating power.

The mission will make the UAE the 10th in the world to conduct a spacewalk.

A spacewalk occurs when an astronaut leaves a vehicle, while in space to complete a mission and is now done outside the ISS.
