The UAE Cyber Security Council has issued an alert regarding a phishing campaign and fraudulent text messages falsely posing as Apple support. As per the authorities, the phishing campaign involves the use of brief SMS messages that assert the closure or suspension of the target's Apple account.

These messages might also ask for a verification of the phone number associated with the account. To steal personal information, scammers prompt recipients to click on a link included in the message and enter their login details. The authority has advised residents not to engage with these messages or click on any provided links.

If you happen to receive such a message, refrain from reaching out to the provided number, avoid clicking on any links in messages from unfamiliar sources, ensure regular updates for your device and apps, and, most crucially, enable two-factor authentication for all your accounts.
