King Charles To Visit Dubai Next Month For COP28

His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom will visit Dubai next month, on Friday, 1 December, to participate in the opening ceremony of the World Climate Action Summit at COP28 UAE. Buckingham Palace has officially confirmed this news. His attendance at the event is in response to an invitation from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai,

His Majesty King Charles is scheduled to deliver the inaugural speech at the summit. This marks his initial participation in a COP summit as the king, though it is not his first visit to the UAE. During his time in the UAE, His Majesty King Charles will seize the opportunity to engage in discussions with leaders from the region, as a precursor to the forthcoming COP28 event. 

Regarding the summit, the COP28 conference will span for 12 days, commencing on Monday, 30 November and concluding on Tuesday, 12 December. This event will be hosted at Expo City Dubai. During these climate discussions, representatives from governments and organisations, including charities, will convene to address the critical issues surrounding the planet's climate crisis.
