Review: Gaucho at DIFC

A true taste of Argentina in a glamourous setting, serving quality food and wine from its own vineyard - Gaucho truly is in a class of its own.

What we ate

After a quick lesson on the different types of meats served and the chef’s suggestion on how best to have them cooked, we decided to go for Gaucho’s most popular dishes. So we started with the Tuna Ceviche with guacamole and soy sauce, and the Burratina with balsamic reduction and Cecina (a dried meat and fresh pomegranate). This was followed by the Chateaubriand, a centre cut of lomo (fillet steak) slow grilled and served with asparagus and mashed potato and accompanied by peppercorn, mushroom and blue cheese sauces. We finished with Dulce De Leche Cheesecake.

Verdict

There’s a reason the Tuna Ceviche is one of the most popular dishes - it’s simply sublime. The freshest tuna paired with a guacamole with a kick! And the Chateaubriand was melt in the mouth cooked to perfection. This is a fantastic restaurant if you love your meats.

Price

Appetisers start from Dhs 50 and mains from Dhs 100, the Chateaubriand was Dhs 400 and desserts start from Dhs 38.
