Dubai Sports World (DSW) is back and there’s plenty on offer! This year there is an exhilarating roster of UAE-based sports academies for their biggest-ever schedule of indoor Summer Camps for children aged between 4 and 16. Last year’s smash hit is back - free badminton courtesy of Shuttle Time Dubai. In addition to complimentary court bookings from 4pm to midnight on weekdays and 8am to midnight on weekends, two of the six courts will also be reserved for companies, clubs and leagues from 4pm to midnight on weekdays. Shuttle Time Dubai will also offer coaching clinics operated by five badminton academies from 8am to 4pm on weekdays.

Besides the six badminton courts there are four pro-standard pitches for five-a-side football, four pro-standard pitches for seven-a-side football and rugby, four basketball courts, two tennis courts, a mini cricket pitch, nets, an Olympic-length 400-metre running track and a regulation-sized volleyball court. An expansive skate-boarding and BMX park designed by extreme sports and recreation retailers, Rage, will boast ramps, rails, pipes and verts; while a state-of-the-art gym by TechnoGym will feature world-class weights and fitness equipment. For the first-time, the gym area will include a dedicated fitness studio for group classes and a cycling studio operated by Fitness First.

For the fifth consecutive year, the renowned IFA football coaching programme will be expertly delivered by English FA and UEFA qualified coaches under the supervision of ex-Premier League and England player, Dale Gordon. With dynamic daily sessions focusing on technique, technical drills and competitive games, the academy will also run adult men’s and women’s leagues.

The IFA Basketball Academy aims to develop and enhance individual skills including shooting and dribbling, passing and team play, and tactical knowledge of offence and defence. The sessions will be run by former professional Ishmael Awange, who played professionally in the USA and China and is the proud wearer of an NCCA Championship ring.

BasicBall are getting ready to score the ultimate slam dunk this summer when they welcome NBA stars Peja Stojakovic and Ricky Rubio. The NBA superstars will be hosting an exclusive six-day training academy alongside certified FIBA coaches from 22nd to 28th August. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for any basketball fan with 2011 NBA Championship winner, two-time NBA Three-point shootout victor and former FIBA World Champion Peja Stojakovic and Spanish NBA star and Olympic silver medallist, Ricky Rubio, who will host running sessions and passing top tips and tricks.

With an exciting schedule of professional coaching clinics, tournaments and celebrity sessions, G Force Cricket Academy is also back for the third consecutive year. Gopal Jasapara, a former first-class cricketer, will offer lessons to improve form and develop the mental and physical attributes required for competitive cricket. Tennis 360 is also holding a Cardio Tennis Clinic involving aerobic drills, ball striking and TRX exercises. Running Sunday to Thursday, the academy caters to all ages and abilities and aims to develop an overall love for the game.
