Earth Hour 2017

Earth Hour 2017 takes place on Saturday 25th March from 8.30pm to 9.30pm local time. Established by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Earth Hour is one of the largest movements for the planet, spanning over 178 countries, and is a strong visual reminder of the globe’s determination to tackle the planet’s biggest environmental challenge yet. 2017 marks ten years of this worldwide movement for the environment.

Moonlight Yoga

In support of Earth Hour 2017, The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi is hosting ‘Moonlight Yoga’ to illuminate the need for climate action. With over 6600 Earth Hour events taking place around the globe, The St. Regis invites you to participate in its complimentary yoga session on the moonlit pristine sands of Saadiyat.

The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort will activate a range of energy-saving measures during Earth Hour. These include: turning off lighting for exterior signage and certain landscape areas, dimming or turning off non-essential interior lighting in the lobby and dining venues, using candlelight in appropriate public areas, and switching off fountains and pool heaters. Organic Feast

The Palace Downtown Dubai will take part in Earth Hour on Saturday 25th March between 8.30pm and 9.30pm. Asado will offer a tasty selection of dishes from the Mediterranean while Ewaan will offer a feast of organic menu to complement the Earth Hour. Call 04-4287888.

Blind Dinner On The Beach

The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal is joining the global Earth Hour event on Saturday, March 25 at 8.30pm by switching off all non-essential lights at the resort for one hour while inviting guests to enjoy a blind dinner on the beach. The three-course dinner will feature a secret menu prepared with energy saving methods and organic ingredients. It is available for Dhs 300 (excluding service fees) and the funds will be donated to the hotel’s social and environmental responsibility program, Community Footprints.
