Sports tournaments are starting back in Dubiai as Dubai Sports Council (DSC) announces "Beach Sports Week". Starting on 23 July, and running over two weekends, "Beach Sports Week" will see teams and individuals compete across 4 different sports at Kite Beach in Jumeirah.

The first event, organised by DSC alongside Elite Volleyball Academy, is the Elite Mens Volleyball Tournament, which runs over three days from 23 to 25 July, with 16 teams of 2 players per team. Matches take place between 5pm and 7pm on Tuesday 23 July, and 7am to 9.30am and 6pm to 7.30pm on Friday 24 July and Saturday 25 July. Teams can still register by WhatsApp on 056 8111876 and 056 3811155.

The Esperia Beach Volleyball Tournament is also running over two weekends, 24 and 25 July, and 31 July and 1 August. Organised by DSC alongside Esperia Volleyball Academy will feature competition across 3 different categories, 2x2 Female, 2x2 Mix and 4x4 Mix (where at least two of the players should be ladies). Registration for this tournament is open through the website BVB Tournament | Esperia Volley.

There is a Beach Tennis tournament also taking place on Friday and Saturday, organised by DSC alongside Super Sports Beach Tennis Academy. Beach Tennis is like lawn tennis only that the ball is not allowed to hit the ground, so quicker and more intense, full of volleys and smashes, and as acrobatic as volleyball. Those wanting to take part can email tiaan24nc@gmail.com.

Finally, DSC alongside the UAE Badminton Federation is organising on 24 nd 25 July an AirBadminton tournament. AirBadminton is the outdoor version of badminton that uses a special shuttlecock called ‘AirShuttle’, which can be used in winds up to 12kph.
