Sultan Al Neyadi, the Emirati astronaut, is set to take the first Arab spacewalk today, 28 April.

A spacewalk takes place when an astronaut leaves a vehicle, while in space to complete a mission.

Expected to last for 6.5 hours, Sultan, along with astronaut Steve Bowen, will complete a mission to replace the Radio Frequency Unit (RFU), which is used by astronauts to communicate, as well as prep the solar array installations, that helps in generating power, outside the International Space Station (ISS).

The milestone will mark the UAE as the 10th country in the world to take a spacewalk.

In a tweet by Sultan Al Neyadi, "Steve Bowen and I will do a spacewalk outside the ISS to change the Radio Frequency Group unit and prepare for the installation of solar panels. After a long period of training, we are ready to take on the challenge and create a new milestone for our mission."

To watch the historic milestone, the live broadcast by NASA will begin at 4.30pm, with the spacewalk taking place at 5.15pm. Watch from the link below.
