Dubai Police has arrested 319 beggars since the start of the Holy Month of Ramadan and over the Eid Al Fitr holidays.
As part of the anti-begging campaign, 'Begging is a Wrong Concept of Compassion', 167 men and 152 women were arrested.
During the Eid Al Fitr holidays, nine arrests were made.
As beggars exploit kindness and gain sympathy from people, Dubai Police advises individuals to instead donate through legal sources.
The public can report beggars via the call centre, 901 or through the 'Police Eye' service on the Dubai Police smart app.
