The longest Arab space mission, which was set to launch on Monday, 27 February at 10.45am was scrubbed.

In a post on Instagram, Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi, who will be leading the mission said, "I promised my kids to return soon and I didn’t mean this soon! Anyway, our crew is safe and our spirits are high. A launch scrub is one of the things that we are trained to do, as crew safety is always a priority."

Due to technical issues with the ground systems, the launch is now set to take place on Thursday, 2 March at 9.34am.

Crew-6 is also joined by astronaut Stephen Bowen, Spacecraft Commander at NASA, astronaut Warren Hoburg, Pilot at NASA, and cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev, Mission Specialist at Roscosmos, and the mission will train astronauts at the International Space Station (ISS).
