Since its launch a year ago, the Dubai Can initiative has helped to reduce over seven million plastic bottles in Dubai.
With over 50 water fountains placed around Dubai at key points including parks, beaches and tourist attractions, individuals are encouraged to fill up their water bottles rather than buying single use plastic bottles.
To help make the initiative possible, over 1,000 stakeholders and sponsors contributed towards the cause from both the government and private sector.
