The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security has announced that residence visas in passports will no longer be used.
Residence will now have to their residence visa within their Emirates ID.
The change will take into effect from 11 April.
The decision was made in an effort to reduce the steps taken to issue or renew residences.
Residence, as well as ID card issuance, will now be done at the same time.
With the new generation of the Emirates ID, all the relevant information, regarding personal and professional information, previously present through the residency stamp is now available through the Emirates ID.
Additionally, residents that would like a printed copy can apply through the ICP website.
