The Museum of the Future is now open to all and is ready to take visitors on a journey into the future, with a glimpse at life in 2071.

Featuring a hub for scientific and technological advancements, the museum will offer solutions for both the present generation as well as for the future.

Inaugurated by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness said, "The Museum of the Future is a message of hope ... a global scientific platform ... and an integrated institutional framework to shape a better future for all of us. It embodies the active human imagination and the Emirati will that continues to excel the world. The Museum will be a forum for great minds, scientists, thinkers and experts from around the world."

The opening ceremony featured several videos explaining the concept behind the museum as well as highlighting the architectural design behind the museum.

The design was based on His Highness Sheikh Mohammed's poetry, written in Arabic calligraphy and designed by Mattar bin Lahej, an Emirati artist.

The museum also lit up with stunning light projections and saw the exterior turn into an architectural masterpiece.

Additionally, to celebrate the day the museum opens, passengers at airports got a special stamp with the Museum of the Future on it as well as the date of its opening.
