The Ministry of Health and Prevention has announced that booster shots have been approved for emergency use.

The booster shots have been approved for the Pfizer-BioNTech and Sputnik vaccines.

Individuals that have received both their vaccines before six months can receive the booster shot.

Senior citizens over the age of 60 years old, individuals with chronic illnesses, people with health ailments between 50 to 59 years old and individuals aged 18 and above that have been receiving long term health care need to take the booster shot.

Individuals that have been vaccinated with both doses of Sinopharm and have received Pfizer-BioNTech and Sputnik doses do not need to follow the protocol.

The booster shots will help offer individuals with a boost in immunity against the virus.
