Emirati Swimmer Bears The UAE Flag At The Olympics

At the 32nd Olympic Games in Tokyo, Yousef Al Matrooshi, the Emirati swimming champion, raised the UAE flag during the opening ceremony.

Some 83,911 athletes competing in 33 sports, will attend the 2020 Olympics, which are held across 48 different sporting venues.

The opening ceremony was held at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo, without any spectators.

The Japanese Emperor Naruhito along with the heads of states from 15 countries, and other dignitaries including Shehab Ahamed Al-Faheem, the Ambassador of UAE to Japan, Engineer Aza Bint Suleyman, the Assistant Secretary-General for the Administrative and Financial Affairs of the National Olympic Committee, the French President Emanuel Macron and Tomas Bach, Chairman of the International Olympic Committee, were in attendance.

Yousef Al Matrooshi expressed his gratitude towards the National Olympic Committee for being the bearer of the UAE flag in the opening ceremony.
