Story Writing Competition Launched

WAM

The Emirates Literature Foundation has announced that the annual Story Writing Competition has been launched for story writers.

The creative writing competition will be held for both Arabic and English stories.

Full-time students in school, college as well as universities in the GCC can participate.

The theme for the year is 'Here Comes the Sun' with the deadline for submissions on 3 November.

The categories for the competition will be based on the age groups of the participants including, 11 and under, 12 to 14, 15 to 17 and 18 to 25.

A special ceremony at the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature in 2022 will honour the winners of the competition with the winning entries published in an anthology.

Over 3,600 stories were submitted in last year's competition.

Isobel Abulhoul, CEO and Trustee of the Emirates Literature Foundation said, "The 2022 theme can be seen as positive and uplifting, but we know from previous years that there is no end to the creativity with which young storytellers can interpret it. I can’t wait to see how the entrants this year develop their narratives as they unleash their imaginations."
