London based analytics consortium, Deep Knowledge Group, has ranked Abu Dhabi as first in response to the fight against coronavirus COVID-19.
Abu Dhabi was named the first among a list of 25 world's cities with Seoul, Sydney, Singapore, Ottawa and Berlin following after.
The ranking was given on the basis of 50 parameters across five categories including healthcare management, efficient health quarantine systems, vaccination rates, government efficiency and resilience of the economy.
Abu Dhabi responded to the pandemic by establishing field hospitals, mass testing centres and screening facilities as well as including new initiatives by providing free testing and health checks for vulnerable groups, distributing millions of free meals and providing health awareness programmes in multiple languages.
The UAE has also administered over 8 million doses of the vaccine to help curb the pandemic.
