Grace Period Over - Fines Start From Today

The grace period for UAE residents whose visas expired between 1 March and 11 July, has ended and overstay fines will apply to those residents in the country who have not yet renewed their visas.

In July, the UAE Cabinet had announced a three-month grace period for GCC passport holders and UAE residents to renew their visas and residency documents.

The extension applied to individuals living in the country with visas that had expired between 1 March and 11 July.

As a prerequisite for visa renewal, residents are required to undergo a medical test.

Violation of residency visa rules incurs a fine of AED 25 per day, and an additional AED 250 will be imposed when leaving the country.
