UAE authorities approved the academic calendar for all public and private schools for the next three years on Monday.
Chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs and the Ministerial Development Council, the approved academic calendar details the start and end of the school year, spring break, summer and winter vacations, etc.
Students in private schools following foreign curricula will start their three-week winter vacations on 13 December, 2020. Schools will reopen for the second term on 3 January, 2021.
Spring break will commence on 28 March, 2021 and end on 8 April, 2021 with classes resuming on 11 April, 2021.
The last day of school for the academic year 2020-2021 will be 1 July.
Public and private schools following the Ministry of Education curriculum will have different vacation dates. For example, a four-week winter break has been announced for these schools from 13 December, 2020 to 7 January, 2021.
