In light of the blast in the Lebanese capital Beirut on Tuesday 4 August, the UAE showed support towards Lebanon and the Lebanese people by displaying the flag of Lebanon on to the worlds tallest building, the Burj Khalifa.
The blast at Beirut's port has reportedly killed at least 135 people and injured over 5,000 more, was heard over 150 miles away across the island of Cyprus in the Mediterranean Sea. It is still unclear what caused the explosion.
The UAE is home to over 150,000 Lebanese, and the support shown towards them and their countrymen back home was hugely appreciated by social media users throughout the country.
