The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai has waived the public parking charges on the occasion of the Islamic New Year.
Parking fees in all car parks, except multilevel car parks, will be free on Muharram 1, Hijri 1441.
On Muharram 1, Hijri 1441, besides free parking, the Red Metro Line will operate from 5am to midnight and the Green Line will operate from 5.30am to midnight.
However, as the date of the Islamic New Year depends on the moon sighting, is yet not confirmed which day it will fall on. The public holiday could be either on Saturday 31 August or Sunday 1 September.
