This coming December, Dubai will host the Girl Gamer Esports Festival. Held from 12 to 14 December at Meydan One, the event will mark the global finale of the year long six-stage game.
Wondering what girl gamer Esports Festival is? It is the world’s most recognised female-focused esports competition where teams of five, all female participants, compete in online games. The live streams of the event attract near to 20 million viewers globally.
The finale event at Meydan One will see nine teams, including one local team, compete against each other to be the overall winner. The games played will be League of Legends and CounterStrike Go.
It is unknown at tis stage how big the prize pot is, but officials say it is very likely to be the largest prize fund ever for a women’s gaming tournament
According to the government news agency WAM, hosting the mega gaming event is part of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO)’s strategy to establish Dubai as a regional and global hub for competitive esports events under the umbrella of its Dubai 10X Media Project.
