The Largest Aquarium To Open In The UAE

UAE is set to welcome the largest aquarium in the Middle East.

The aquarium is set to open in Al Qana, the Abu Dhabi waterfront destination, during next year as so far 70 percent of the construction work is already complete.

Once ready, visitors will get to explore the largest aquarium spread over 7,000 sqm divided among 10 themed zones housing 33,000 marine creatures with the capacity to welcome around 1 million visitors every year.

One section will be dedicated to educating 50,000 school children in a year about more than 250 species, spanning from the tropical waters of the Pacific and freshwaters of the Amazon, through to the frozen ice caps of the Arctic and the caves of the Mediterranean.

The aquarium will have 80 qualified marine experts and specialists taking care of all operations.
