UAE Car Free Day returns on Sunday, 24 February when commuters are encouraged to ditch their cars and instead use public transport, or even walk to work and places they visit.
UAE Car Free Day is part of Dubai Municipality’s initiative to reduce carbon emission on the roads hoping that drivers will take part in the initiative to achieve the collective goal.
Last year, Dubai Municipality expanded the initiative to other emirates to include Al Ain, Ajman and Sharjah and the day witnessed around 30,000 people using other modes of transport to get to work.
