Announced by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment on Wednesday, people who abandon their pets will now face legal consequences. Due to the increasing number of pets being left by owners, the Ministry has intervened. Abandonment and any act considered as animal cruelty could carry a fine or jail sentence, with legal amendments in process. Residents are urged to contact the authorities regarding pet abandonment.
