New iPhones Missing Major Feature in The UAE

During the yearly conference last week, Apple announced a series of new iPhone models. Along with a number of high-end specs, the iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR all come fitted with a dual-sim feature. However, iPhone X series (pronounced '10’) users in the UAE are not currently able to use these features, as they are not compatible with Du and Etisalat.

Apple’s website says the “use of e-SIM in iPhone may be disabled when purchased from some carriers.” Which is currently the case for the UAE. Both du and Etisalat are currently working alongside Apple to make dual SIM capabilities “available to customers in the near future.”

The iPhone XS Max and XS will be on sale from 21 September and the iPhone XR will be available for pre-order on October 19.
