Bound to cause some confusion on your travels, the Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) Metro station has a new name! The station will be renamed Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) Metro station from 1 September. The DMCC station is located on the Red line along with Mall of the Emirates and First Gulf Bank.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) generates revenue from the naming of the Metro stations by sponsoring companies or businesses and has made Dhs 2 billion so far. Other Metro station names sponsored by business entities include Emirates Airlines, GGICO, DAMAC Properties, Sharaf DG and Danube.
