Watch: Sheikh Hamdan Among Giant Sharks

Everyone is aware of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai's, love for adventure, animals, sports and travel, and he never shies away from sharing his experiences and adventures with his followers.

And once again, Dubai’s very own brave hearted Crown Prince has left his 6.5 million Instagram followers spellbound with his latest adventure. This time HH Sheikh Hamdan is seen swimming and taking selfies with rare Whale Sharks, which is indeed a rare thing to do, but not for Dubai’s Crown Prince.

In his latest social media splash, HH Sheikh Hamdan posted a jaw-dropping selfie and a breath-taking video on his Instagram feed where he was up close and personal with Whale Sharks to mark the Discovery Channel’s Shark Week.

HH Sheikh Hamdan’s video post said, “Swimming with these giant sharks is truly a breathtaking experience, one that is difficult to put into words. The more we swim with these creatures, the more we understand, respect and appreciate them. #SharkWeek”

His one minute magnificent and dramatic video has already garnered 286,929 views in less than 20 hours. The video opens up with an aerial shot of giant sharks and moves to underwater shots where HH Sheikh Hamdan is seen swimming behind, beneath and by the side of the giant sharks, with one camera strapped to his head and carrying a selfie stick with a camera in his hand. The video closes with HH Sheikh Hamdan’s hand gesture showing that he loved the whole experience.

What is Shark Week

Shark Week is an annual, week-long TV programming block on the Discovery Channel. It started in 1988 and is usually broadcast in July and early August. It is devoted to conservation efforts and correcting misconceptions about sharks.

Since 2010, it has been the longest-running cable television programming event in history. Broadcast in over 72 countries, Shark Week is promoted heavily via social networks like Facebook and Twitter.
