Shortly after posting a video to his social media, an Emirati cancer patient received aid from an unexpected hand. Khalifa Mohamed Rashid Da’fous Al Muhairi posted a video after doctors told him that his medical bill would likely reach Dhs 3 million. In the video he expressed his doubts about his ability to pay for treatment. Al Muhairi pleads saying, "It's impossible to get approval for this treatment and I can't save up for it. Who can donate?"
His emotional story then caught the eye of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, who offered to pay for his treatment. The Crown Prince also commented on the video saying, "You are brave, and we are with you".
Al Muhairi is currently receiving treatment in the US after an unsuccessful lung surgery prompted doctors to give him a life expectancy of just three years.
