This Dubai Hotel Is Getting To Know Its Guests In The Funniest Way

The friendliest hotel in Dubai just got a whole lot friendlier ... as in, first-name-basis friendly. Boycotting the use of the terms ‘sir’ and ‘madam,’ hope to bring Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Waterfront a step closer to really getting to know their guests.

And, staff who manage to maintain a sir-and-madam-free lifestyle will be rewarded. For every use of the words ‘Sir’ and ‘Madam’, the hotel will have to donate Dhs 25 as a penalty fine. All donations made during the month will be put towards special prizes for the winners.

David Allan, General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Waterfront comments: “I’m ready to play the game and put my team to the test. It’s only right that if we say we’re the friendliest hotel in Dubai we put our money where our mouth is, quite literally, and what better way than getting to know our guests from the offset. It’s easy to be polite and formal using ‘Sir’ and ‘Madam’, but it’s a lot more engaging and refreshing to actually be referred to by your name. While this is only a game for now, we expect that the team will stick to this after the ban is lifted.”
