KHDA New Initiative On Parenting

Helping Emirati mothers to understand parenting better, Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) launched a new mother-to-mother initiative recently.

The latest initiative is aimed at helping mothers understand their role and impact in a child’s overall development. Each week, trainers from KHDA and Mentor Arabia provide 15 to 20 Emirati mothers with insights on parenting.

The sessions include a number of topics, highlighting the role of a mother in society, intellectual, physical and psychological development of a child, listening and conversation skills, social life and helping children make the right friendships.

Habiba Bin Thalith, Culture Advisor at the KHDA said, “These sessions are a valuable insight for parents as we value the role of mothers. They are a cornerstone of our education system and play a vital role in the development of our society. By enhancing their skills and creating a better awareness, we will drive home a message of happiness.”

Thoraya Ismail, Executive Director of Mentor Arabia, expressed her enthusiasm for the launch as she said, "We are confident that Emirati mothers have exceptional capabilities and this collaboration with KHDA will contribute to our development.”
