Rains Hits Parts Of The UAE

Rain expected today and Monday

When the UAE exceeds temperatures of 30 degrees centigrade during this time of year like it did on Saturday, that usually means heavy rain and even thuderstorms are likely to follow.

Residents of the UAE, today, woke up to the sky covered with thick and dark clouds. Light rainfall has been reported in some parts of the UAE and motorists have been advised to take special precautions against poor visibility levels due to rain and dust storms.

According to the National Center of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS), rain is expected to continue in the UAE until Monday. Cloud cover will continue throughout the day increasing the intesity of rainfall, possibly leading to some thunderstorms. The NCMS said that moderate to fresh winds will blow more strongly at times, potentially stirring up dust and sand, and to expect limited visibility levels along exposed areas during the day.

On Monday, the weather is expected to be cloudy to partly cloudy and rainfall will gradually decrease during the evening and night.
The northern and eastern areas would witness a continuation of rainfall on Monday. Fresh winds are expected in southeastern and northeastern areas. Strong winds are also expected at times over the sea.
