Dubai boy has his fingers cut off in an elevator accident

Despite using them every day, few people are actually aware of the dangers posed by the seemingly harmless lift.

A child got his right hand got caught in the elevator doors and his fingers were completely cut off.

Thanks to the efforts of the Dubai Police Special Squad who reached the scene within 3 minutes of receiving the call, the boy was rushed to hospital where surgeons operated and reattached his fingers.

The rescue team of professionals removed his hand carefully and stored the fingers in such a way that the tissues remain undamaged.

Lieutenant Colonel Ahmed Ateeq Bourguiba, Deputy Director of Dubai Police search and rescue department said that Dubai Police have rescued 157 women and children who were trapped in cars, elevators, rooms and bathrooms from January to mid-September this year.

Make sure you keep your child’s fingers away from elevator doors as their tiny hands can easily slip through into any gap.
