Dubai Taxi Corporation has a plan of 64 initiatives to improve its services as well as 22 initiatives aimed at improving the happiness of its employees by 2021. According to reports in Khaleej Times, one of them is a weekly day off for drivers. Currently, most drivers work seven days a week, but the new system will see each driver getting one paid holiday every week. Dr. Yousuf Al Ali, Executive Director of Dubai Taxi Foundation, said: "The launch of the system comes as part of the company's keenness to provide relief to drivers from physical and mental workload. With drivers well rested, it will also improve safety levels on roads.”
