The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has announced that sick leaves can only be given on the same day the patient visits the medical facilities. The authority will no longer issue the certificate for three consecutive days or more. Both public and private medical facilities have been urged to comply with the new decision and refrain from giving predated sick leaves. The procedure has been implemented on Saturday 29th April according to Marwan Al Mulla, the director of the health planning department at DHA. Al Mulla added that the electronic system "Sharian" has been reprogrammed and no longer accepts predated sick leaves.
