Attention, residents of the UAE! The UAE authorities have issued a strong cautionary message, urging residents to be cautious when clicking on unfamiliar links frequently shared through platforms such as WhatsApp, text messages, and various social media channels.

The UAE's Cyber Security Council, tasked with supervising cybersecurity, stressed the importance of being cautious and vigilant when encountering unsolicited messages that encourage users to join groups or click on unfamiliar links.

Such links frequently redirect unsuspecting users to phishing websites, initiate the download of malware, or expose them to various online dangers. In certain situations, hackers succeed in accessing the victim's account through these methods, subsequently exploiting the victim's contact list for additional illicit purposes.

Residents are urged to report any suspicious messages or links to the appropriate authorities, contributing to the fight against cyber threats and the safeguarding of the online environment.
