Public Schools To Welcome Over 290,000 Students For New Academic Year

Public schools in the UAE are set to welcome over 290,000 students for the start of the new academic year, of which around 20,000 students have transferred from private to public schools.

To cater to the growing demands for public school education, 14 new public schools are opening around the UAE.

Her Excellency Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technology and Chairwoman of the Emirates Schools Establishment, mentioned that preparations for the new academic year began after the conclusion of the previous one.

To prepare for the new academic year, over 23,000 education professionals participated in 'Specialised Training Week', where 165 training workshops and three educational forums, covering a wide range of topics were held.

The total bus fleet also increased to 4,800, with the addition of 78 new public school buses for the new school year.

Furthermore, around 10 million copies of books that are part of the curriculum have been printed, and distribution will begin on the first day of school.
