Have Four Black Points Reduced On This Day

Drivers that are looking to have black points reduced from their licenses, will be able to benefit from the Federal Traffic Council initiative that will run on 28 August.

The 'Accident-Free Day' initiative will provide drivers with the chance to deduct black points from their records, by avoiding accidents and following traffic regulations, and coincides with the first day of school, when students around the country will return after a two-month-long break.

To reduce black points, drivers will have to register through the Ministry of Interior website, and pledge to avoid any traffic violations and accidents on the day.

Black points are received when serious traffic violations are not followed. A driver's license is suspended after 24 black points are accumulated.

Brigadier General Engineer Hussain Ahmed Al Harthy, Chair of the Federal Traffic Council, mentioned that the initiative aims to increase road safety awareness.
