How Fuel Prices Have Changed Over The Past Year

The fuel prices for the month of August were announced this week, and saw an increase in comparison to July.

The cost of a litre of petrol and diesel changes every month, after the UAE de-regularised the prices for fuel in August 2015, to match the global market prices.

Since August 2022, fuel prices have gone up and down each month, however, overall, prices have decreased between 22% to 29%.

In August 2022, Super 98 was priced at Dhs 4.03 per litre, and in August 2023 is set at Dhs 3.14 per litre, a drop of 22%.

Special 95 was priced at Dhs 3.92 per litre in August 2022 and is Dhs 3.02 this month, a reduction of 23%.

Dhs 3.84 per litre was the price of E-Plus in August 2022, with a decrease seen in August 2023 to Dhs 2.95 per litre, a drop of 23%.

Prices of diesel have also dropped by 29%, which was Dhs 4.14 in August 2022 and is priced at Dhs 2.95 this month.
