New Jellyfish Exhibition At The National Aquarium

The National Aquarium in Al Qana, Abu Dhabi is set to open a new exhibition, home to jellyfish called 'Invasion'.

The permanent display will showcase the free-flowing marine animals that are made up of 98% water, and are shaped like an umbrella with flowy tentacles.

Jellyfish can be found in deep water to shallow beaches, and have a one-of-a-kind life cycle. A fertilised egg is turned into jellyfish polyps, which during the dormant phase, are found on the seabed. When there is an extreme change in the ocean, like a temperature change, the polyps create jellyfish.

Through the exhibition, marine biologists at The National Aquarium have identified the life cycle of jellyfish.

The exhibition will open on Saturday, 15 July, with ticket prices set at Dhs 110.
