Get Information On Holiday Homes Easier With QR Code

Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has launched a new initiative for holiday home owners, to make the process easier for visitors to easily get the information required.

All holiday homes that have been approved by DET need to have a QR code placed at the main entrances, through which visitors can scan the code and receive the information on the operator of the home and the contact details for DET.

Additionally, the QR codes also help in simplifying inspections of the homes, to ensure all the requirements are followed.

The initiative effects all holiday homes that are residential units, including studios, apartments and villas in gated communities as well as properties in Hatta.

Shaikha Al Mutawa, Director of Hospitality Affairs Department at DET said, "As we continue to navigate the ever-changing landscape of the tourism industry, we recognise the importance of innovation and technology in further bolstering Dubai’s image as a must-visit destination. To ensure the effective governance of the Holiday Homes segment, we are introducing QR codes, as a part of the ongoing digital transformation process across customer and visitor touchpoints in the city."
