KidZania is inviting mums and kids to discovery their inner yogis and yoginis at a series of special workshops in Dubai Mall from 29th to 30th April. Yoga expert, Piloga Studio, believes it’s never too early to introduce children to the benefits of yoga practice which helps enhance flexibility, strength, coordination and body awareness, in addition to improving kids’ concentration and encouraging a sense of calmness and relaxation.
Three levels of classes will be running throughout the weekend:
Mum & Baby Yoga
Mum and baby yoga classes provide an opportunity for mothers to regain their strength and flexibility while bonding with their baby. The class emphasis is on movement and breathing, with special attention to the core, back, abdomen, and pelvic muscles for strength. Classes also focus on relieving tension in areas such as the neck, shoulders and back, which mums experience from carrying and feeding their new-borns. The babies benefit from this class because mums will learn how to massage and stimulate their baby to help aid with digestion and improving circulation.
Kids Yoga (2 to 5 years)
Yoga comes to life in these fun and creative classes designed to stimulate a young child’s growing curiosity; playful yoga poses are combined with animated breathing exercises and imaginative relaxation techniques. Classes are aided with music, crafts, picture books, puppets and other age-appropriate props to help spark the child’s inner yogini while enhancing language development, motor coordination and play skills. Classes are an equal balance between active and passive poses.
Kids Yoga (5+ years)
Cooperative games, theme activities, storytelling, music, and art engage the natural energy and enthusiasm of the 5, 6 and 7-year old child. Classes explore yoga poses, breathing exercises, visual imagery and relaxation techniques while conveying lessons in self-expression, body image, social skills, positive thinking, and environmental awareness.
