This is now our third attempt at finding a paediatric dentist that ticks all the boxes and let me tell you, as a parent in Dubai, it’s a tricky task. I have asked friends for recommendations and always left the clinic feeling less than impressed. I heard great things about Dr Roze Clinic from a friend who was having some cosmetic work done at the clinic so I did some research and made an appointment with Dr Agnes.
What’s involved?
Dr Agnes kept it fun for everyone and my daughter was at ease. She wasn’t so keen on sitting on the chair alone so Daddy jumped on to make her more comfortable. We started by counting her top and bottom teeth. Then, Dr Agnes gave her a new toothbrush; it was purple, very cute, and my daughter was quick to get started cleaning her own teeth. Dr Agnes demonstrated how to brush your teeth using a toy crocodile with lovely teeth. She then asked my daughter to show her how she would brush her teeth, which she enjoyed. We were delighted to find out that we have been doing a good job at home and looking after our daughter’s teeth. There were no concerns and my husband and I were really happy with the checkup, and left feeling like we had finally found the perfect dentist for our daughter.
Where do we go from here?
The next step is to make an appointment 6 months later, for a routine checkup, and to ensure that your children maintain good oral health. This will prepare them for looking after their own teeth and will make visiting the dentist less scary.
